Just three hours north of Los Angeles, the Trona Pinnacles National Natural Landmark is a unique, other-worldy landscape of towering tufa pinnacles against the starkly beautiful backdrop of the Mojave Desert.
I’m excited to share that I was invited to participate in a great new project sponsored by Toyota Family Learning and the National Center for Families Learning (NCFL), called Family Trails.
In mid-February, we spent a weekend in Lone Pine exploring the Alabama Hills Recreation Area and hiking in nearby Onion Valley. The surrounding area is beautiful, with soaring peaks, mountain lakes, rolling hills, and desert flats. There are endless opportunities for adventure.
Victoria Beach is one of several secluded public beaches in Laguna Beach, guarded on both ends by rocky points, cliffs, and intertidal zones. A perfect stretch of sand, great tide pools, and a mysterious cliff-side tower make for a great beach day.
We do a lot of things FOR our kids, but how much do we do WITH them? And how much of it is really that fun for us? The key to a successful day trip? Do something you want to do.
